In today's reading from Matthew, John the Baptist announces for all to hear the long-awaited coming of the Messiah. John the Baptist proclaimed a serious message of change and conversion. Indeed, he must have been a sight to behold draped in his penitential garb, nibbling on his locusts and honey. Anyone who heard him preaching must have taken notice, even if they didn't take heed. If nothing else, John the Baptist surely got people's attention.
Join us every Tuesday in the church from 4 PM to 7 PM. Confession times during advent are also available on Tuesdays from 5 - 7 PM in the church.
ADVENT PRAYER
Let’s pray for each other in these Advent days.
Heavenly Father, help us quiet our minds and hearts from our internal distractions. Guide us to bring our anticipation and longing for our savior to the center of our daily lives. Help us make more room for hope, faith, and charity. Amen.

LET'S PREPARE OUR HEARTS FOR MASS
BEFORE MASS
Take time to read the Mass readings. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your mind and heart to hear the Word of God.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS! Giving with a cheerful heart is one of the ways we show our obedience to God and demonstrate our recognition that we are only stewards of our earthly possessions. God gives to you so He can give through you.
ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE YOUR CHURCH DONATION

Charitable Giving Before the Year Ends Tips
Three important tax rules to remember for year-end charitable giving in light of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act: (1) For tax years 2020 and 2021, cash contributions to most charities are not subject to AGI limits and individual taxpayers can offset their income up to 100% of their AGI; (2) charitable contributions that exceed AGI limits (such as contributions to donor-advised funds, private non-operating foundations, supporting organizations, and split-interest giving vehicles, such as Charitable Remainder Trusts and Charitable Lead Trusts) can be carried over to offset income in a later year for up to 5 years; and (3) individual taxpayers who are age 70 ½ or older can contribute up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to a charity and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution. This is known as a qualified charitable distribution. Please consult with your accountant to see what applies to your situation.

Safeguard the Children
Start paying attention to TikTok
Keeping tabs on how our children are using social media can seem quite daunting, even for parents who know their way around social media. But if you’re not paying attention to TikTok, the newest and most popular platform on the scene, it is time to do so. Check in with children who are old enough to use the platform, and if possible, consider limiting or even eliminating their access. Talk to your children about responsible searching and sharing on all online platforms. For more information about TikTok, read “Not paying attention to TikTok? It is way past time to do so,” by Charles Camosy for Angelus News, https://angelusnews.com/voices/not-paying-attention-to-tiktok-it-is-way-past-time-to-do-so/.
Empiece a prestar atención a TikTok
It is way past time to do so” (¿No presta atención a TikTok?
If you would like to submit an announcement for the Bulletin, please send a draft to bulletin@olgmail.org by noon on Monday. Attach images separately as jpeg or png files.
