Hemos tenido la sensación de un abandono de Dios.
Estaba ardiendo una casa. Todos se habían salvado, excepto un niño, en el segundo piso. La escalera estaba llena de llamas y humo y no había salida sino por la ventana.--¡Papá, papá! ¿Cómo escaparé? –gritaba el niño.--Aquí estoy –gritaba el padre-- déjate caer, te recibiré en mis brazos; tírate, Luisito, yo te recibiré. Luis salió a gatas por la ventana, pero allí quedó agarrado, porque tenía miedo, sabiendo que era muy largo el trecho hasta la calle.--Suéltate, déjate caer –gritaba el padre.--No puedo verte, papá.--Pero yo si te veo: aquí estoy; ten confianza, suéltate, que yo te salvaré.-Tengo miedo de caer.--Suéltate, tírate –gritaban otras voces--, tu padre te recibirá con toda seguridad; no tengas miedo. Acordándose de la fuerza y del amor de su padre, el niño recobró la confianza y se dejó caer. A los pocos instantes se halló a salvo en los brazos de su padre.
Realmente confiar y abandonarse en esa confianza es muy diferente, a la hora de la hora, nos llenamos de miedo y de inseguridad. Claro que no queremos arriesgarnos y soltarnos de nuestra supuesta seguridad. El relato primero nos lo muestra con el niño y su padre.
La fe es realmente un don de Dios, El nos la regala, pero nosotros debemos alimentar nuestra fe para recibir siempre esa gracia de poder seguirlo con una confianza y seguridad total. Nada fácil, pero no imposible. Si todos los días, oramos, si nos alimentamos con su palabra y su presencia en la eucaristía, si además de eso nos formamos y nos comprometemos, vamos a tener una experiencia de Dios más sólida y madura, sobre todo.
La duda y la incertidumbre es parte de ese proceso de crecimiento, cuando dudamos y somos persistentes vamos a crecer y a conocer mejor al Dios que nos ha salvado. Claro hay gente que se asusta porque duda, pero no debemos asustarnos, pero si atendernos para clarificar, madurar y entrar en ese camino que está abierto por delante de nosotros desde el día de nuestro bautismo.
Vamos adelante que Dios nos sostiene siempre, Él camina delante de nosotros mostrándonos su camino como discípulos que somos suyos. Amen, bendiciones.

Sunday 10/2: Blessing of the Animals at 2 PM in the OLG main parking lot. Join us in honor of the St Francis Assisi Feast Day and his love for animals.
Monday 10/3: Transitus - A Night of Reflection on St. Francis at 7 PM in the Church.
Transitus is the annual celebration by Franciscans throughout the world of the passing of St. Francis from this life to life with God. It is celebrated the night of October 3, the eve of his feast day. The word “transitus” comes from Latin, meaning passage or crossing.

OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF THE ROSARY
The Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to particular devotion. The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions. October includes the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7).

COMMUNITY ROSARY DAY - Saturday, Oct 8!
Join the Monday Night Rosary Group and the Family Faith Formation Ministry, with music from Mrs. Bobbi Lambert on Saturday, October 8 from 9:30-11:30 AM for a morning of fellowship and prayer.
Refreshments begin in the Portico at 9:30 AM, followed by a Community Rosary in the Church. Please bring your rosary and celebrate together. Rosary activity for all ages.

MEN OF OLG Join this fall for the KoC Series: Into the Breach - A call to battle for Catholic men, which urges them to embrace wholeheartedly masculine virtues in a world in crisis. Our Ministry for High School Youth called G.Y.M. debuted this September and is off to a fantastic start. We have close to 100 youth enrolled in the program this year! Please continue to pray for our Youth as they continue on their faith journey.
