We celebrate All Saints’ Day and remember the communion of Saints—our unity of all Saints, both earth and heaven. It’s our day to be mindful of what we are called to be—SAINTS. In 2025, All Saints Day is not a holy day of obligation for Catholics in the United States, as confirmed by lacatholics.org and the USCCB.

This Sunday is All Souls Day, the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. It is a day set aside to pray for all the dead. All Souls Day shifts the Church’s focus on praying for the Faithful Departed throughout November. OLG will follow our regular Sunday Mass Schedule.
LET'S PREPARE OUR HEARTS BEFORE MASS
Remembering our baptism, we cling to Christ's promise that just as he was raised from the dead, so too shall we be raised. At every funeral liturgy, we are reminded that life is changed, not ended. As we share in this Eucharist, let us pray for our beloved dead, trusting that our prayers assist them and that our communion with Christ will be fulfilled beyond death.
Spending time reading and praying with the Mass readings before Mass prepares your heart to receive what God wants to communicate to you.

Este domingo celebramos a todos los fieles difuntos. Tenemos que decir que esta celebración envuelve a todos, seamos creyentes o no , por la razón de que todos en algún momento hemos perdido a alguien a quien recordamos hoy. Por lo tanto no es que impongamos , más bien celebramos con todos la partida de un amigo, maestro , vecino , alguien muy cercano como la mamá o papá , un hijo etc y como dice la segunda lectura somos ciudadanos del cielo eso quiere decir que pertenecemos al cielo y nos debemos ganar el cielo con nuestros actos .Hoy el Evangelio recuerda la resurrección y es recordado con un lazo de amistad Jesús que llega a visitar a sus amigos en Betania, y Lázaro ha muerto , Jesús habla de esa nueva vida y Marta le confirma que hay una resurrección para la vida eterna.
Nosotros recordamos a los que se han ido sabiendo que forman la Iglesia del cielo y nosotros la Iglesia terrenal, y entre las dos hay una unión ellos nos ayudan y nosotros los recordamos y vivificamos como
Glorificados . Este misterio es el amor de Dios , todos los que se han ido de este mundo Son recordados hoy es algo hermoso poder celebrar la vida ellos , y la que tuvieron aquí en la tierra . Fr. Paul to go on medical leave
Greetings and Peace! I am scheduled to have heart valve replacement surgery on November 3. The doctors say that it is a low-risk operation given my age and health. I will be on medical leave starting from November 3 until I am able to return to ministry. The doctors expect that it will be 4 to 8 weeks. That may change depending on how the surgery goes. Friar Tammylee Ngo OFM Conv will come here to fill in for me while I am out. I would very much appreciate your prayers, and to the extent I am able, I will be praying for you!

The father is incarcerated and mother has a tumor near her head with the two youngest on the autistic spectrum.

Notice of Staff Opening for Elementary and Family Catechesis
We are looking for an additional staff member to join our current staff and be on our Evangelization and Catechesis Team to mainly work with families with children in elementary. The opening is for a part-time position but would be open to even a full-time position for this and additional Evangelization and catechesis responsibilities. The ministry position does require work in evenings and weekends, but hours are somewhat flexible. This position will work in coordination with other team members. Experience in the fields of religious education, family ministry, youth ministry, other related fields, and bilingual (Spanish and English) is desired. November 1-2 || Facts about physical grooming
The term “grooming” refers to the way in which a predator tries to mold and set up his victims and their families, in order to gain access to a child and cause harm, all while appearing innocent. The first of the three types of grooming is physical, and it involves touch. A predator starts with innocent touches — back pats, appropriate hugs — and then moves on to tickling, wrestling, hugging, conditioning the child to increasing levels of physical contact. Over time, the predator conditions the child to accept all forms of touch, progressing to sexual contact. NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK
November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.
The gathering will be on Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Like other sessions, we will provide a meal, childcare, Praise & Worship, a presentation, prayer time, and small group discussion. The topics presented will be how to continue your spiritual growth as individuals or in groups, and/or join in our parish ministry of evangelization or serve the parish in other ways. Please join us! EUCHARISTIC CARAVAN, MAY 16, 17, 18
Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?
