Today is the Second Sunday of Advent. This week, our focus shifts to lighting the candle of Peace, as we continue the spiritual preparation of our hearts for the arrival of Christ.
The prophet Isaiah proclaimed a powerful message: "A voice of one crying out in the desert: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.'" This timeless call encourages us to internally ready ourselves to welcome Jesus at Christmas. We are invited to foster a spirit of kindness and make virtuous choices throughout this week.

Un Mensaje Del Padre Carlos
"Ven Ven Señor, ven, que te esperamos." , este es el segundo domingo de adviento en el ciclo A. La palabra clave es prepárense o preparar, hay palabras, personajes, signos que nos identifican con el tiempo y con la vida de salvación , hoy Juan el Bautista es uno de los personajes que nos habla y es muy importante en el adviento, porque nos dice, preparen el camino del señor. Isaías, el profeta, por supuesto, nos dice que hay que sacar vida de lo que aparentemente ha muerto, y se refiere al tronco de Jesé o a sus raíces. Nos invita a darle vida, a sacar vida de ahí, y no se refiere a la vida física ni a la espiritual, sino a la vida que recorre el camino de la salvación. Juan Bautista nos hace referencia a la conversión, le llaman bautismo de conversión, significa que el signo del agua lo reciben los que se preparan para reconocer al mesias en medio de ellos, pero es indispensable, la preparación, la reconciliación, el cambio y ese es el nuevo camino que ofrece, un camino abierto para todo el que quiera abrir su vida al Mesias El esperado. El adviento en este domingo nos invita a mirar mas allá de lo que a veces alcanzamos, a ver mas allá de las ruinas y la confusión, esperen al Dios que nos salva y nos da esperanza es mas o menos lo que nos invita a vivir. Y claro dice vean las cositas pequeñas que ellas traen mucha esperanza y nos darán la posibilidad de caminar por caminos nuevos, que nos conduzcan a la justicia, paz, amor, perdón, un mundo iluminado como lo da Dios para todos. bendiciones.

Every Catholic is called to protect the most vulnerable, including children who are at risk for abuse and exploitation.
If you are working with or around minors in the Catholic Church in the parish, sports, clubs, or school settings, you are required by the Archdiocese to complete the Safeguard the Children/Virtus training and a Live Scan, fingerprinted. If you are a parent volunteer and have been fingerprinted previously, you do not need to do it again. Contact the church office if you have questions.

Red flags in gift giving
’Tis the season for giving and receiving gifts, but some gifts are inappropriate for children to receive from adults. Talk to your children about appropriate gift giving – who they should give presents to and who they do not need to give to. Discuss when they should accept a present or not. This would be a good time to establish family rules about gift receiving. For example: friends and family may not accept gifts outside of established holidays, like a birthday or Christmas. Through talks by dynamic speakers, witness by peers, inspirational praise and worship, and rich experiences of the Sacraments, Holy Fire helps young people feel seen, welcomed, and invited into a life changing commitment to Christ. NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK
November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.
The gathering will be on Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Like other sessions, we will provide a meal, childcare, Praise & Worship, a presentation, prayer time, and small group discussion. The topics presented will be how to continue your spiritual growth as individuals or in groups, and/or join in our parish ministry of evangelization or serve the parish in other ways. Please join us! EUCHARISTIC CARAVAN, MAY 16, 17, 18
Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?

This weekend in lieu of the Maintenance Fund, OLG will hold a special collection for the Holy Land Emergency Relief Fund, to help those who are going through extreme difficulties in Gaza and Israel.
