As we transition from the joy of the Christmas season into the daily walk of our faith, the liturgy invites us to reflect on our own calling.
In today’s Gospel, we hear John the Baptist’s powerful testimony: 'Behold, the Lamb of God'. Like John, we are reminded that our primary mission is to recognize Christ in our lives and to lead others to Him.

Un Mensaje Del Padre Carlos
El tiempo ordinario siempre nos invitara a una esperanza confiada en Dios, al igual que los demas tiempos liturgicos pero especialmente al inicio del tiempo ordinario, nos encontramos con ese llamado fuerte de Dios para todos sus hijos e hijas y este domingo , la Figura de Juan El bautista sigue presente hoy pero esta recordando la importancia y la centralidad de Jesús . Juan está acompañado a un movimiento profético y de penitencia , todo esto para poder y estar listo para identificar al mesías, algo que Israel esperaba y que debía ser reconocido y vivido personalmente y como comunidad.
Lo que Juan dice es como el que prepara el camino y dice detrás de mí viene , yo no soy digno y otras advertencias, es asegurando, Él es el Mesías , pero tiene que reconocerlo . Juan da testimonio de su primo Jesús sin decir que es Jesús . Jesús aparecerá y se acercará a todo hombre y mujer que le busque , porque su reinado es de justicia, paz y libertad; no hay diferenciación de personas, y dirá que ha venido a llamar a los pecadores , a los que están extraviados, enfermos del alma, etc. Y este sigue siendo el mensaje para nosotros , pongámosle atención. Este es el Hijo de Dios y eso hace diferencia entre Juan y el mesías que viene y está ahí. El evangelio de hoy nos invita a mirar a Jesús con los ojos de San Juan, sin dudas , sin vacilaciones , con coraje, y lo más importante a proclamarlo y vivirlo en nuestro medio. CHURCH OFFICE - VOLUNTEER(S) WANTED
The front desk in the Church Office would love some sunny personalities to join the front desk team to help with clerical duties 3.5 hours per week during the daytime: from 8:30 AM to 12 PM or 12:30 to 4 PM. This includes phone calls, emails, computer data entry, organizing, and more. Training is included. This is a non-paid position. Interested, please contact the Church Office.

If you are working with or around minors in the Catholic Church in the parish, sports, clubs, or school settings, you are required by the Archdiocese to complete the Safeguard the Children/Virtus training and a Live Scan, fingerprinted. If you are a parent volunteer and have been fingerprinted previously, you do not need to do it again. Contact the church office if you have questions.

NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK
November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.
The gathering will be on Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Like other sessions, we will provide a meal, childcare, Praise & Worship, a presentation, prayer time, and small group discussion. The topics presented will be how to continue your spiritual growth as individuals or in groups, and/or join in our parish ministry of evangelization or serve the parish in other ways. Please join us! EUCHARISTIC CARAVAN, MAY 16, 17, 18
Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?

This weekend in lieu of the Maintenance Fund, OLG will hold a special collection for the Holy Land Emergency Relief Fund, to help those who are going through extreme difficulties in Gaza and Israel. Last Saturday, Nov 8, we were blessed to have 22 adults celebrate The Rite of Acceptance. We joyfully welcome all these Adults and ask our parish community.
Please pray for these men and women as they continue their faith journey in the months to come, preparing for initiation into the Christian faith by Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
