Our readings this Sunday challenge us to put this faith into action. In the first reading, the prophet Isaiah teaches that our light truly shines when we share our bread with the hungry and shelter the homeless. In the Gospel, St. Paul then reminds us that our strength comes not from human wisdom, but from the power of God. Let us ask for the grace to live as transformative agents in our world, reflecting the light of Christ through our works of love and justice.

If you are working with or around minors in the Catholic Church in the parish, sports, clubs, or school settings, you are required by the Archdiocese to complete the Safeguard the Children/Virtus training and a Live Scan, fingerprinted. If you are a parent volunteer and have been fingerprinted previously, you do not need to do it again. Contact the church office if you have questions.

We know that pornography is a great evil, and easy access to the internet makes it all too likely that many children will be exposed to pornography at increasingly young ages — even if they are not actively searching for it. Children who are exposed to pornography are more likely to be abused, or to be desensitized to inappropriate behavior in their own relationships. Pornography can also change a child’s brain, activating dopamine in patterns similar to substance addiction. NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK
November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.
The gathering will be on Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Like other sessions, we will provide a meal, childcare, Praise & Worship, a presentation, prayer time, and small group discussion. Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?

Last Saturday, Nov 8, we were blessed to have 22 adults celebrate The Rite of Acceptance. We joyfully welcome all these Adults and ask our parish community.
Please pray for these men and women as they continue their faith journey in the months to come, preparing for initiation into the Christian faith by Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
