Hola, estamos llegando cada vez más cerca del acontecimiento de nuestra decisión, ¿estoy ya listo? He hecho lo que tenía que hacer en esta Cuaresma, ¿me he quedado solo en planes? ¿Me ha tocado mi experiencia humana? ¿Me he sentido también ciego, con sed, o perdido alguna vez?
Pero la respuesta es tuya, la semana pasada en el evangelio se daba un proceso gradual de conocer, aceptar, seguir, rechazar a Jesús, hoy nos enfrentamos con algo similar, un proceso gradual, se va diciendo y convenciendo poco a poco quién es ese hombre que me habla, que cura, que perdona, que me busca ¿quién es? ¿Tenemos la respuesta ya? Bueno, díganme ustedes.
Es muy interesante este encuentro o estos encuentros, porque terminan en: luz, proclamación, conversión, misión, al final todo está apuntando a la salvación.
Pero Jesús no obliga a nadie, es un proceso que usted y yo debemos tomar y decidir, las consecuencias serán para nosotros. No te asustes, pregúntale, háblale, síguelo, cuestiónalo; siempre encontrarás las respuestas y te llevarán a la decisión de la misión, de seguirlo, y, por conclusión, a la vida nueva tuya y de los demás. Vida nueva, luz, agua, limpieza, claridad, verdad, anuncio. Es muy sanador y libre y personal. ?¿Lo quieres tomar? Tómalo, estás a tiempo todavía. Bendiciones.

This weekend is the second scrutiny for our Elect and Candidates in OCIA. Scrutinies are three special rites celebrated during Lent, specifically on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays, to prepare the "elect", those preparing to receive the sacraments of initiation.

FRIAR STEPHEN TRẦN NHƯ TẢNG, OFM Conv.
Welcome Fr. Stephen!
Fr. Stephen has just joined our pastoral staff at OLG. He will live here and minister in the parish part-time. He will also continue to study English at a local school. Fr. Stephen was born in Buôn Ma Thuột in Dak Lak Province, joined the friars after working in manufacturing and a Café, then continued his pre-Theology studies in Food Production, Confections and Baking while living in the Residency program with the Friars. Fr. Stephen completed his philosophy and theology studies at the Franciscan Institute of Saigon. After ordination to the priesthood on August 5, 2022, he was assigned to the novitiate of the custody where he assists with the formation program, with ministry at the local mission church and with the care of the Friars' plantation (coffee and dark pepper).

A penance service is for the community to gather and acknowledge the effects of sin and it typically includes scripture and time for an examination of conscience. Each person is invited to make a private confession with one of many priests available.

Donations of canned meat, canned tuna, chili, soup, beans and rice, stew, and household items, especially laundry detergent, are greatly appreciated! Donations accepted on Sun., March 15, or at the vigil Mass times on Saturday night.

Eucharistic Ministers for Little Company of Mary Hospital
Do you love being an Extraordinary Minister at church? If so, please consider volunteering to give communion to the sick at Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital, in Torrance. Opportunities range from one day a month to as often as you like, weekdays or weekends between 9am and 3pm. You must be an active Eucharistic Minister at your parish. Orientation and training are provided. It is such a gift to bring Jesus to the sick!! November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.

EUCHARISTIC CARAVAN, MAY 16, 17, 18
Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?

SECOND COLLECTION
This weekend in lieu of the Maintenance Fund, OLG will hold a special collection for the Holy Land Emergency Relief Fund, to help those who are going through extreme difficulties in Gaza and Israel. In solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters, Archbishop Gomez has asked all parishes to consider this special collection. For children entering Kinder to 5th Grade to dive deep into an amazing undersea adventure to experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God. OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
Last Saturday, Nov 8, we were blessed to have 22 adults celebrate The Rite of Acceptance. We joyfully welcome all these Adults and ask our parish community.
Please pray for these men and women as they continue their faith journey in the months to come, preparing for initiation into the Christian faith by Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
