It is the Second Sunday of Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday. The Risen Christ comes to us just as He came to the Apostles in the Upper Room, offering us His peace and the healing power of His wounds. We are invited to bring our failings, our doubts, and our heavy hearts to the Fount of Mercy. Let us enter this Eucharist with hearts open to His transformative love

Paz y Bien, felices Pascuas de resurrección , ¿saben? Hoy termina la octava de Pascua, ¿qué es eso? Bueno , es, la celebración por 8 días de la misma solemnidad porque es tan importante en nuestra vida como cristianos , que la Iglesia quiere que pensemos y vivamos a lo profundo algo que nos recuerda el regalo de la salvación. La Pascua tiene 7 semanas, incluyendo la octava de Pascua.
La Pascua es la luz que rompe con la oscuridad, porque el mundo estaba en tinieblas del pecado y Dios con su luz y Resurrección en Jesús ilumina nuestras vidas, nuestros deseos de tener una vida nueva en el Espíritu se hacen realidad. Cuando se presentan en la madrugada visitando la tumba de Jesús, nos invitan a nosotros a ver nuestro amanecer después de la resurrección, esto es que la Pascua nos invita a tener un nuevo amanecer, a que dejemos lo viejo, el pecado, la vida de indiferencia a un lado y nos inscribamos en la aventura de Cristo resucitado, vivo y presente. A que caminemos a la luz de la vida nueva y que tengamos un propósito de salvación para nosotros. Hay una invitación para todos que es la Fe, es creer que Cristo el Hijo de Dios quien murió y resucitó está vivo y presente, y que esta fe me debe llevar a mí y a ustedes a una vida con Dios, que sea él la luz que nos guíe y nos conduzca por la vida nueva, además, es un compromiso para nosotros de ser fieles a este regalo que sin merecer hemos recibido. Es buscar los bienes del cielo y vivirlos aquí en la tierra con los demás para lograr llegar a la vida eterna del Dios que nos ha salvado. Bendiciones de Paz y Bien.

An indulgence will be granted to those who participate in a pilgrimage to any Franciscan conventual church, or place of worship in any part of the world named after St. Francis or connected to him for any reason. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Every Catholic is called to protect the most vulnerable, including children who are at risk for abuse and exploitation.
If you are working with or around minors in the Catholic Church in the parish, sports, clubs, or school settings, you are required by the Archdiocese to complete the Safeguard the Children/Virtus training and a Live Scan, fingerprinted. If you are a parent volunteer and have been fingerprinted previously, you do not need to do it again. Contact the church office if you have questions.

The Office of Victims Assistance Ministry is collaborating with the parishes where the five Gardens of Healing are located, to hold special liturgies throughout April in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Dedicated to those harmed by sexual abuse, in their family, church or community, the Gardens of Healing are located at St. Camillus Pastoral Center in Boyle Heights, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Ventura, St. Francis de Sales Parish in Sherman Oaks, St. Bernadette Parish in Los Angeles, and Our Lady of Refuge in Long Beach. The gardens offer a sacred space for all those impacted by abuse to seek comfort and solace. NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK
November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.
The gathering will be on Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Like other sessions, we will provide a meal, childcare, Praise & Worship, a presentation, prayer time, and small group discussion. The topics presented will be how to continue your spiritual growth as individuals or in groups, and/or join in our parish ministry of evangelization or serve the parish in other ways. Please join us! Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?

SECOND COLLECTION
This weekend in lieu of the Maintenance Fund, OLG will hold a special collection for the Holy Land Emergency Relief Fund, to help those who are going through extreme difficulties in Gaza and Israel. In solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters, Archbishop Gomez has asked all parishes to consider this special collection. Last Saturday, Nov 8, we were blessed to have 22 adults celebrate The Rite of Acceptance. We joyfully welcome all these Adults and ask our parish community.
Please pray for these men and women as they continue their faith journey in the months to come, preparing for initiation into the Christian faith by Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
