We continue to rejoice in the gift of the Resurrection. In our readings, we hear a beautiful promise from Jesus: I will not leave you orphans. He assures us that the Spirit of Truth, our Advocate, will dwell within us forever. This is a promise of constant presence, comfort, and divine guidance.

Es el domingo que nos llama la atencion sobre la presencia del Espiritu Santo y su apoyo, nos propone como una bendicion en la palabra y en el Espiritu. HOy se celebra el dai de la madre y en muchos otros lugares, pidamos la bendicon para todas las madres del mundo, especialmente las que sufren, estan bajo sistemas de opresion, guerras, violencia, persecucion, oremos para que sus ambientes mejoren , cambien y puedan gozar con sus familias.
Feliz dia a todas las mujeres que sirven, aman, trabajan, gozan, luchan , que nos dan ejemplo de amor, entrega y de servicio. Unido a esto hoy las lecturas invocan el nombre del Espiritu Santo, con dos nombres el paraclito y el el espiritu de la verdad. La primera comunidad experimenta que esta presencia protectora se hace presente de muchas formas , elllos predican, sirven, visitan a los hogares, invitan a la conversion, y muchos reciben el espiritu de la verdad. la Iglesia naciente no se quedo metida entre paredes , todos han salido a invitar a otros a recibir el espiritu, imposicion de manos, curacion, ayuda mutua, ha sido una revolucion del espiritu y del amor de Dios presente en tantos hombres y mujeres . Felipe hoy es un ejemplo de entrega y convencimiento de que ese Espiritu habita en todos los que lo acepten y se disponen a propagarlo en las comunidades. Esto es una introduccion, porque el espiritu de la verdad esta por llegar . HOy en nuestra Iglesia hablamos de evangelizar, de extender el REino de Dios, predicar a los que no concoen la buena nueva, esa es nuestra tarea, en donde quiera que nos encontremos. Estamos a la puerta y el que abre es el Senor, El nos salva y nos invita a esparcir esa buena nueva a todo lugar, eso fue lo que hicieron los primeros cristianos despues de haber aceptado y recibido el bautismo que los llevaria a la salvacion y a la mision. Esta misma accion espiritual es para nosotros, no la dejemos pasar, aprovechemos y evangelicemos. Paz y Bien.

STAMP OUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE - MAY 9
OLG receives tons (literally tons) of food from this event. We are also working with House of Yahweh/South Bay Outreach so that both of our organizations can get food. Once we fill up our pantry, Yahweh will pick up all the additional food they can, along with other participating organizations. Thank you for supporting STAMP OUT HUNGER!
On Saturday, May 9, all you need to do is leave non-perishable food in a bag by your mailboxes, and then the letter carriers will pick up your food donation when they deliver the mail.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!!
We are also looking for volunteers (with big trucks and strong backs) on Sat. May 9 to help us go to the Redondo Beach Main Post Office to pick up our portion of the Donations and drive the food back to the Parish Hall. Contact the OLG Church Office for details. Thank you!
NILAND SCHOLARSHIP
The OLG Niland Education Fund Scholarship offers a $1000 scholarship for a graduating 8th grader from Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish continuing on to a Catholic High School. Applications will be available in the Parish office beginning Thursday, May 7th. Submit completed application to the Parish office, along with the most recent report card, in a large manila envelope addressed to Attn: Niland Education Fund Board of Trustees to Parish Office by 3:30 pm, Thursday, May 21st, 2026. Late/Incomplete applications will not be considered. Selection made by the Niland Fund Board of Trustees by June 2nd, with notification by email.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Every Catholic is called to protect the most vulnerable, including children who are at risk for abuse and exploitation.
If you are working with or around minors in the Catholic Church in the parish, sports, clubs, or school settings, you are required by the Archdiocese to complete the Safeguard the Children/Virtus training and a Live Scan, fingerprinted. If you are a parent volunteer and have been fingerprinted previously, you do not need to do it again. Contact the church office if you have questions.

NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK
November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.
The gathering will be on Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Like other sessions, we will provide a meal, childcare, Praise & Worship, a presentation, prayer time, and small group discussion. The topics presented will be how to continue your spiritual growth as individuals or in groups, and/or join in our parish ministry of evangelization or serve the parish in other ways. Please join us! EUCHARISTIC CARAVAN, MAY 16, 17, 18
Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?

This weekend in lieu of the Maintenance Fund, OLG will hold a special collection for the Holy Land Emergency Relief Fund, to help those who are going through extreme difficulties in Gaza and Israel. OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
Last Saturday, Nov 8, we were blessed to have 22 adults celebrate The Rite of Acceptance. We joyfully welcome all these Adults and ask our parish community.
Please pray for these men and women as they continue their faith journey in the months to come, preparing for initiation into the Christian faith by Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
