This is the Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. As we celebrate our nation’s 250th year of independence this weekend, we pause to give thanks for our freedoms and pray for peace. The Liturgy this Sunday reminds us that the greatest freedom of all is the freedom from sin, found in a humble relationship with God. Jesus invites all who are weary to come to him and find rest. Let us open our hearts to his mercy as we prepare to encounter the gentle heart of our Savior.

Esta primera lectura se parece a la de la pasión y lo que podemos deducir es el Significado de humildad y la bondad de Dios en Jesús , pobre y humilde y sigue siendo Dios , no tiene donde poner su cabeza . No hay símbolos de poder en su actuar o forma de vida. Quizá una de las causas más profundas de nuestro cansancio sea precisamente la lucha constante por sostenerlo todo. La segunda lectura hace una invitación profunda debemos ser de Cristo y debemos pregonar su presencia .El Evangelio nos recuerda que no estamos llamados a ser dueños absolutos de nuestra vida, sino hijos que aprenden a confiar. La humildad está en confiar en la grandeza de Dios y en su poder inigualable . Jesús dice vengan a mi todos los cansados pero dice carguen con mi yugo porque es suave y ligero , porque El actúa en nosotros ,eso si debemos despejarnos del rencor , envidia, prepotencia , odio , vanidad , vicios , solo siendo pequeños alcanzaremos su gracia . Construir el Reino de Dios asume que nos despojamos de aquello que no es de salvación, todo lo que nos fatiga y pone nerviosos o ansiosos , depresivos , dejemos las cargas que no son necesarias y asumamos su yugo de amor . WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Every Catholic is called to protect the most vulnerable, including children who are at risk for abuse and exploitation.
If you are working with or around minors in the Catholic Church in the parish, sports, clubs, or school settings, you are required by the Archdiocese to complete the Safeguard the Children/Virtus training and a Live Scan, fingerprinted. If you are a parent volunteer and have been fingerprinted previously, you do not need to do it again. Contact the church office if you have questions.

July 4-5 || What is grooming?
Child safety experts consider grooming a core component of sexual abuse. Grooming is a manipulative process in which a person who intends harm gains access to a child, often through behaviors that seem innocent, and builds up a relationship that will ultimately allow the predator to abuse the child. Children who are groomed are slowly taught to accept and excuse any behaviors by the predator, because of the relationship that has been built up over time. A predator relies on manipulation to reduce a child’s resistance and to maintain secrecy. NATIONAL VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK
November 5-11, 2023 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
PATHWAY TO DISCIPLESHIP WRAP UP & WHAT’S NEXT EVENING
Peace to our Disciples of Jesus Christ who have participated in our first Pathway to Discipleship! You are invited to a one-evening reunion, to catch up with one another and learn more opportunities on how you can continue the journey.
The gathering will be on Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Like other sessions, we will provide a meal, childcare, Praise & Worship, a presentation, prayer time, and small group discussion. The topics presented will be how to continue your spiritual growth as individuals or in groups, and/or join in our parish ministry of evangelization or serve the parish in other ways. Please join us! Hop on board the Eucharistic Caravan to walk with Our Lord through the streets of San Francisco as pilgrims move towards Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress this July. A pilgrimage is the simultaneous
movement of feet and soul to encounter God. This is a journey WITH Jesus. With the gift of the Eucharist, Jesus gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Do you want to accompany Jesus this May?

This weekend in lieu of the Maintenance Fund, OLG will hold a special collection for the Holy Land Emergency Relief Fund, to help those who are going through extreme difficulties in Gaza and Israel. Last Saturday, Nov 8, we were blessed to have 22 adults celebrate The Rite of Acceptance. We joyfully welcome all these Adults and ask our parish community.
Please pray for these men and women as they continue their faith journey in the months to come, preparing for initiation into the Christian faith by Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
